Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, is seeking an experienced Advanced Care Practitioner to join its busy Cardiothoracic Surgical service.
In this role the practitioner, under the direction of the cardiothoracic surgical attending physician and within established departmental practice guidelines will have a variety of clinical responsibilities that include but are not limited to: preoperative patient evaluation and performance of history and physical examinations, postoperative patient care from ICU through discharge as well as postoperative care management in the outpatient setting.
The department of is compromised of 4 Physicians, 8 Advanced Care Professionals, and 2 Nurses and will perform in excess of 750 surgeries and see upwards of 2,000 out patients annually. The Department provides a full range of adult cardiac and thoracic surgical services with the exception of transplantation.

Education, training, experience:
The successful candidate will have at least two (2) years experience as a physician assistant or nurse practitioner on a cardiothoracic surgical service or alternatively in a surgical ICU, or coronary care unit. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with patients and their families, medical staff, nursing staff, and other clinical and administrative colleagues. Excellent clinical and organizational skills are also required to effectively manage clinical care in a fast paced, high-acuity environment where quality and safety are our highest priority in the delivery of care.
