Lahey Clinic Medical Center, a 317 bed and ACS Level II trauma center is recruiting a full-time Advanced Care Practitioner for its Department of Emergency Medicine in Burlington, MA. Our emergency department at consists of 15 EM physicians who see approximately 37,500 patients annually. There are 2 Advanced Practitioners 56 Registered Nurses and 19 Nursing Assistants on staff that provide care to our patients.

Working closely with attending physicians, your responsibilities include evaluation, diagnosis and treatment planning, and follow-up of assigned patients. You may also provide preventative, pre / post-operative, and urgent care.

Our emergency medicine residents rotate from the Boston Medical Center Residency program and we are a major teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine.
VARIABLE

The shift is variable as needed. Evenings, and some weekends will be included and is rotated with a second Advanced Practitioner.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
Physician Assistant: Graduate of an accredited Physician Program. Documentation of registration for next NCCPA Board administration or successful completion of NCCPA Board and maintainence of appropriate CME
Practitioner RN: Graduate of a Masters Program in Nursing. Maintain currency through Clinical Education Units.

Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Certification and current license to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
DEA number and Mass Department of Public Health Division of Food and Drug Restricted Substances registration number as appropriate.
Written prescription privilege protocols signed by all attendings with whom the individual will be working.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with medical staff , nursing staff, and other clinical and administrative colleagues as well as with patients and their families. Knowledge of clinical procedures and protocols. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and ability to provide appropriate emotional support.

Experience: .
Direct patient care experience (preferably to include in-patient or emergent care) prior to graduation and /or clinic experience while in program.
